Delete your account and data
This page explains how to delete your account in the PageBite app and all data that belongs to it. You can do this directly in the app or by email, even without a subscription.
Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open PageBite.
- Tap the gear icon to open the settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete permanently.
The app then starts from the beginning again. This also works if your subscription has ended.
Request deletion without the app
You no longer have the app? Send an email to henri.irmscher@gmail.com with the subject "PageBite: Delete account". Include one of these:
- the email address you used to set up "Back up & sync", or
- your account identifier. You find it in your data export (Settings → Export my data) under
account.id.
Before we delete anything, we check that the request really comes from you, for example with a reply from the email address on your account. We complete your request within one month.
We can't find anonymous accounts without an email address unless you send the account identifier. Accounts without a subscription are deleted automatically after 30 days anyway.
What gets deleted
- Your account with its identifier and, if added, your email address
- Your books, pages, key ideas, quiz questions and flashcards
- Your review history and your stored consent records
- Your customer record at RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Your usage statistics at PostHog, if you had agreed to them
- When you delete in the app: also all PageBite data on that phone, including the original texts
What is not deleted
- Your subscription is not cancelled. Cancel it first in the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play.
- Purchase records at Apple or Google. They keep them under their own responsibility.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in our database provider's backups until they are overwritten in the regular cycle.
Uninstalling the app is not enough
When you uninstall the app, the data on your phone is gone. Your account and your backed-up cards stay on the server, though. So delete your account in the app first, or write to us.
Delete only some data
You can delete books, pages and single flashcards directly in the app without deleting your account. They are then also deleted on the server.
Get your data
In the app under Settings → Export my data (JSON) you get a file with your data.
